10 Things...01/28/08

10 things for this week:
10. Obama Chia Pet
9. Top Chef New York (Spike comes back tonight, amazing.)
8. Chicken Sandwiches.
7. Bitter:Sweet (Been listening to this a lot since Saturday, no album in particular all are great)
6. Getting ready for the Super Bowl (I'm thinking there is going to be lots of really bad-for-Nicole snacks. Bagel Bites, seriously good times.)
5. Losing a few lbs :)
4. Current Tonight & tea. (One hour of television that actually doesn't waste brain space)
3. My new healthy cook book (Not actually written by me obviously but I can't wait to try the sweet & sour chicken and rice!)
2. Flight of the Conchords (Only the greatest thing ever. Go to youtube and search for the songs from this week's episode: "Sugalumps" or Sugar Lumps and "You Don't have to be a prostitute" There is lyric gold in those)
1. My warm comfy bed. (Now you may say this is completely lame, and true it is. But it has become absurdly cold in the last few days. Apparently it was supposed to rain but has not basically being a pain in my ass. I've only wanted to lay in bed and try to sleep. I haven't been sleeping well lately.)

I'm so stressed out, I'm honestly thinking that is the reason for the loss of sleep. Last night was a little better than the night before. I have so much to do and only 4 days to get a large portion of it done. The other stuff comes easier in fact so I'm less stressed about that.

This morning on Current I watched a pod during my breakfast about spending of people in their 20's. It completely described exactly what I'm pretty positive I tend to do haha but I'm not the only one!You can watch it here: http://current.com/items/76259982/big_spenders.htm

S-a-t-u-r-d-a-y Night

Saturday was girls night out on the town. It was fun for the most part, aside from the d-r-a-m-a of the day. I did all these boring things all day (laundry, cleaning etc), looked at family photos I've never seen before (I never realized I look a lot more like the grandma I'm named after that I've never met than I thought I would), went shopping & had some dinner. We walked a really long way to Drift and had a drink. It was so crowded..so we left. Walked all the way back to the car, met up with another friend..and then started the long walk back to that area...the walk was hilarious there was def some peeing in bushes..and atm stops. (Seriously, just walked up to the drive thru atm) We took one of those bike drawn carts to Axis/Radius, yeah I know we rolled up in style. It was hilarious because 4 of us piled onto this cart and the poor guy was trying soooo hard to pull all of us. I kind of felt really bad. We hung out @ Axis/Radius for a long time dancing and drinking. There was definitely some flirting going on, there was this really cute guy..but then he saw me "rolling the dice" to Swing by Savage (which is what normally happens when we all hear this song) and he just walked away. If you can't handle the dice roll, no no my friend not worth it. We left and stopped by the 24 hour McDonald's. There was a gigantic line which is not really surprising. I felt really gross though for eating a chicken sandwich. (Hey, it's better than raiding the fridge again lord knows what I could have ate!) We were sang to by my lovely friend and we planned out her audition for American Idol, and changed the words to the song to go along with the moment of getting ready to order @ McDonald's. The song being sang was "Green Light" by John Legend. There was even dance moves! It was a crazy fun night...The only thing that completely sucked was when we were in a rush to meet people, I pushed through these 2 girls and 2 guys (I said excuse me, as I should have) which was met by this drunk slut saying "If you look like that you shouldn't be wearing that outfit" or something of that nature. I was completely caught of guard. I ignored her obviously, because if I don't feel comfortable in an outfit I wouldn't have worn it! Trust me there was larger people than me wearing more unreasonable outfits than mine. And I'm not even that large thank you. It's not getting to me, it was just an event of the night that I realized I didn't care about for once. If people knew the problems I have with food...trust me you'd realize why I was upset at first.
Lesson #1: "If these shoes ain't acting right you tell these shoes they got to go."
Lesson #2: "Save it for the ballet"
Lesson 3#: There is a new addition to my "what to look for in a guy" criteria..If he can't handle the rolling the dice, it's not worth it. That happens quite a lot, it was definitely one of the best parts of 'Knocked Up' and that's why it continues today.

Crazy night, yesterday I just laid in my bed all day watching television. talk about lazy but I felt sick and all I could hear was freaking buzzing in my ear. That's the only part I hate, I can deal with headaches or that rot gut stomach feeling..but the buzzing annoys the heck out of me!

"Give me the green light...give me just one night...I'm ready to go right now...."

good times,
Nicole.

We belong together...

From the "Title" of the blog you'd think it would be something about a boy. Unfortunately I have nothing to report on any guy to report, Sorry my friends.

Here's some of my top songs from this past week. I'm pretty much posting them just so you can give it a look and mock it orrrr find something new to listen to. But also just as a general record for me when I want to make a sick mixtape or playlist for anyone. So Enjoy..if you read it ha but really who wouldn't? (Oh btw, they don't go in a particular order..)
1. 10,000 Nights of Thunder - Alphabeat
2. Everyone Nose (All the Girls Standing In Line for the Bathroom) - N.E.R.D [I haven't listened to this in awhile, but I heard it on the dance floor Sunday night and it has been pretty much in my head ever since.]
3. Rock of Ages - Def Leppard ["What do you want? what do you want?...I want rock n roll, yes I do...Long live rock n roll" oh i do haha]
4. Chicago - Portugal the Man
5. You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC [Honestly, I've learned if you play this in any public setting where there is probably drinking everyone will join together and sing the chorus.]
6. Panama - Van Halen [Same with this one, but really this song is pretty amazing]
7. Jai Ho - A.R. Rahman [From 'Slumdog Millionaire' soundtrack, it's seriously the most joy enducing song i've heard lately]
8. Here I Go Again - Whitesnake [I almost broke a heel, pretty much every brain cell i have & myself when I rock out to this song. No seriously, I almost fell backwards a record number of times]
9. Just Like a Woman - Bob Dylan [I didn't know to chose the original or the cover done by Charlotte Gainsbourg & Calexico from the soundtrack to I'm Not There because they are both so good, and have about just as many plays.]
10. My Life Would Suck Without You - Kelly Clarkson [I honestly was assuming this sucked but I stand corrected, it's actually not that bad.]
11. Lies - the Black Keys [I enjoy this song, and now I believe it's being used in Big Love promos?]
12. If U Seek Amy - Britney Spears [I swear if have to hear about this song anymore I'm going to go nuts. I honestly never even thought it spelled out something bad and I so much attention..weird]
13. Dreams on Fire - A.R. Rahman [From 'Slumdog Millionaire.' So pretty]
14. Stepping Stone - Duffy
15. Cath - Death Cab for Cutie
16. Queen Bitch - David Bowie
17. Sex on Fire - Kings of Leon [Someone asked me why I liked this song so much, of course I made up some answer about it but then eventually settled on the obvious 'My sex is on fire' ha.]
18. Wedding Day - Rosie Thomas [I freaking love this song]
19. Gives You Hell - the All-American Rejects [I watched this video a lot and I still cannot decide if I had the chance who I would choose. Trashy rockstar tyson OR stick up the ass 9 to 5 working man Tyson..still undecided.]
20. Nothin' But a Good Time - Poison
21. Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N Roses [There's a REALLY funny story as to why this song is on here. I don't really want to go into it.]
22. Backfire at the Disco - the Wombats
23. Happiness - Goldfrapp
24. The 3 Kids in Brooklyn - Butch Walker [I really love Butch Walker. "Working at American Apparel selling women's clothes to guys"]

That is a lot of text...remember to check the picture blog for more daily pictures. Sometimes you even get 2 for the price of 1. Only there isn't actually a price...whatever!

This isn't love...

I just wrote this whole blog about a guy, highlighted it and hit delete. I don't feel like I want to share those feelings with anymore people than the people I trust the most to tell me the truth. The 3 of them that there are. Ha. I learned this week people don't know me very well, the me there is now anyway. I don't know if it's because they just don't bother to try or I just won't let them. Even people I've basically known my entire life. I'm sure it's just because they care more about their own lives too much to care about anyone elses and it's much more simple to just judge instead of learn.
At least there are a few people who have the mind enough to listen to everything I say, and for them I am grateful.

oh if he just knew...

are you ready for some football?

I'm watching the Cardinals playoff game. I honestly wish that the announcers would come up with something other than "wild west" references when making comments about Arizona. Seriously, how many are there that you could possibly think of?

I had a pretty chill New Years, which is how I like it. The next day I felt this crazy sense of calm and like a huge weight had been lifted off of me. That may sound strange, but it was really refreshing. Very little upset me, I guess I really took my own thoughts seriously this time. I did make resolutions, I am trying to keep them to myself in order to actually keep them going. So far so good, but that is what most people say at the beginning of the year right? ha. I have so much I want to do this year! First up, forget people who treat me like crap. Honestly, it's not worth it even if I've been friends with you for years, there are A LOT of people in my life who don't know what the term friendship means. I'm not saying I'm perfect, cause obv i'm not but at least I make an effort to make everyone feel like they are wanted around, just saying. This will be taken out of context too, just like everything else.

Last night I had dinner with my parents, my dad made dinner. This may be a new trend, I heard him talking about all the other meal ideas that he wants to make. He made what my brother calls pasta fadoodle. It was so yummy. I haven't had it since I was little. After that I went to Target to get some laundry soap and stuff, and then to Starbucks to get some Chai Tea. soooo yummy.

Yesterday, I also did something I'm completely proud of. I really want to celebrate it, but i'm almost 10000% positive not another single person would care. Other than Stacey and Kendall, they cared!

I'm doing this picture a day blog for 2009..Stacey gave me the idea. So follow it here: ohheynicole365.blogspot.com

xoxo,
Nicole
